A closer look at Frank, the character from my Ringling College of Art & Design thesis film The Usual. His textures and materials were updated in VRay with added fur for the eyebrows and stubble. The character is inspired by Abe Vigoda, Tom Waits, and 1940s noir. Here's a rendered out expression test showing off the capabilities of the rig.
Noir render of Frank.
Facial rig composed of blendshapes with joints being used for the jaw movement. Tapered blendshapes were used for the eyebrows and eyelids to allow for precise control over expressions.
